I'm so glad you're here! I began creating music about books when I was an elementary music teacher in 2015. With my trusty ukulele named Bow in hand, and the generous collaboration and support of so many authors, illustrators, and bookshops, I created over 50 songs inspired by books over the next decade. Through sharing on my YouTube channel with over 30,000 subscribers, and numerous albums, my award-winning songs for children (or kidlit tunes as I call them) are sung by students, teachers, and families worldwide!

I'm a Berklee College of Music graduate with Orff Schulwerk and Montessori certification, and I've spent my career at the intersection of music and early literacy: teaching K-6 music for years, before my music took me across the country for two years on a literacy-focused tour, followed by opening my own children's bookstore (which I've since sold) before becoming a published author myself! YAY! I love teaching and coaching writers through the picture book journey and often teach classes for adults.

I've been called a teacher's teacher, and I'm trusted by educators nationwide to create purposeful, literacy-rich content kids love and teachers and parents feel good about. The Bow and Arrow Studio is where I make and share my own educational resources for raising readers through the magic of music.

I'm currently based in Los Angeles, pursuing my graduate degree in Speech-Language Pathology at West Coast University, deepening my understanding of how music supports language development in young learners. When I'm not writing songs or hitting the books, you'll find me at home with my husband and our rescue dog, drinking iced coffee and writing lists of ideas too long to ever create 🏹 🎶
